About Jolly Van der Velden
Thanks for visiting my website! With my photos, collages and drawings I show what is important to me. I am always searching for meaningfulness. Everything has got its own story and that never ceases to fascinate me. My photos are stories about people, about nature, about a street in a city, about a leaf in autumn or about the seeds of a flower as a promise for the future. Hello Jolly, the Oesterling name we believe is of Dutch or German descent, it is my married name, we've learned Oester might mean oyster in Dutch, which I love :) You must be Dutch? Beautiful country the Netherlands!

An 'oester' is indeed an oyster, but I think the name Oesterling, almost simular to , probably comes from Oosterling, which means 'man from the east'. It is here in Holland a rather commen name. In Germany aswell, but often with 'von' before it. I saw you have been in Amsterdam: nice pictures! Have a good weekend.
